We all have dreams. We all aspire to something. We all want to reach our goals, pursue a great idea and better things. But these are all worthless without action.

It will never be the perfect time to begin. These days it’s easy to compare yourself to the many people on social media and think that they have it all together. But that only shows a curated reality, and the truth is, no one is perfect. If you wait for perfection, you’ll be waiting forever. You can’t let the fear of the unexpected paralyze you.

You should plan and have a strategy, but you also need to learn how to be flexible. Making lists and concrete goals will be extremely helpful to your motivation, but if you endlessly plan without taking action, then you’ll never get started.

Getting started on your dreams takes courage, and it’s definitely intimidating to being new things, but you’ll learn how to improvise as you go along. You’ll make mistakes along the way, but none of them will be as bad as never trying. With each mistake you’ll learn and grow.

You don’t need to accomplish everything all at once as soon as you begin working toward your goals. Start small and do what you can manage, but even a little bit will add up if you work every single day.

Each day you wait to begin is a day wasted. Life won’t wait for you to get started; it will keep moving and leave you behind. Learn as you go and let go of perfectionism. Know your motivations so you can lean on them when you’re going through tough times.

So what are you waiting for? If you were waiting for a sign, this is it. Get started today!
